Already Unmade (2016-)

Already Unamde is a performance conceived by choreographer Andros Zins-Browne. It has been presented as a solo durational performance (Yvonne Lambert Gallery, April 24th, 2016, Berlin), a group exhibition (Repetition, Villa Empain/ Boghossian Foundation, May 12-August 21st, 2016, Brussels), and as a workshop for young professional dancers (Impulstanz Festival, July 24-29, 2016, Vienna).

Zins-Browne first developed Already Unmade in 2016 as a process of “unmaking” the choreography in his body. Conceived as a public rehearsal, Zins-Browne begins with finished pieces or 'choreographic objects' and rehearses or ‘de-hearses’ them until they become increasingly unrecognizable; overlapping, extending and warping the movements of his own repertoire.

Echoing the swirls of time-traveling dances, the performance simultaneously involves stories, songs, anecdotes and jokes about time, speed, history and (the failures of) progress.
